Stage 2 opens with a short brief, five minutes to prepare, then up to five minutes as a newly attested Garda opposite a board member who applies pressure. Here the actor answers you back, out loud, and reacts to what you actually say. Up to six exchanges, then the board’s debrief.
The board is watching how you speak to a member of the public under pressure: whether you listen first, say what the rule is and why, offer what you actually can, and hold the line when they push or film. The scenarios here state the rule that applies, so you are marked on how you apply it, not on knowing road traffic or youth justice law. The actor’s voice is your device’s own; turn it off if you would rather read.
